This was a sad one. My paper said goodbye on Thursday to more than a dozen journalists and/or editorial staffers. They took the buyout offered to them by management, a first step taken by the paper in an attempt to improve the economic situation of the company. Our acting editor-in-chief said that combined, this group of retirees accumulated nearly four centuries of journalistic experience. These are scary times in this industry. Scary, scary times.
